Tarata

At the end of October 2019 one water treatment unit with reverse osmosis, which was donated to the regional government of Tacna, was installed in medical centre in Tarata. The province of Tarata is one of the fourth that make up the Tacna region in the south of Peru. The medical centre of Tarata is located in the province of Tarata itself, district of Tarata, belonging to the medical network Tarata, at a height of 3,070 masl (meters above sea level). The number of inhabitants is 2,364 people. The newly installed unit provide high-quality drinking water to all patients and visitors of the medical centre, thus helping to improve the health of the region’s population.

In September, Photon Water Technology organized an information workshop “Cuidados del Agua y Tecnologías para resolver problemas de contaminación del agua potable” (Water care and technologies to solve drinking water contamination problems), which was aimed to general public, local authorities, different business associations, management water authorities, among others. The workshop was held in the auditorium of the Provincial Municipality of Tarata and had a great response. Technical workshop focused on the operation of small water treatment plants was organized in the medical centre of Tarata, counting with the participation of the staff of the medical network Tarata, Coracorani and Ticaco, and likewise with representatives of the Municipality of Tarata and general public.
