Experts from Photon Energy Peru S.A.C. installed one water treatment unit in Coracorani at the end of October 2019. Water sources in this area are highly contaminated by heavy metals as product of volcanic activity in the nearby zones. Coracorani is located at an elevation of 4,800 m above sea level just below the Jucuri Volcano. The water treatment unit was placed in a medical center – the population here is 189 people, the medical centre provides full medical attention to children and general public, as well as been able to attend emergency medical situations.
The installed unit was donated to the regional government of Tacna, which provided support to our company in implementing the B2B project on the basis of a signed cooperation agreement to combat water scarcity and promote the use of technologies to improve the quality and treatment of water for consumption by the local population. The Coracorani representatives attended the information and technical workshops held in Tarata and were actively interested in the issue of drinking water treatment.
